The Institute of History offers a broad education in all areas of history from antiquity to the present, from bachelor's degrees to doctorates. The aim is to clarify the historical dimension of human existence in its interdependence in politics, society, economy, environment, and culture. This reveals the historical roots of modern society and can thus provide an important guide to better understand social and political conditions in the present. In addition, the study of history teaches valuable skills such as independent work, research techniques and stringent reasoning, which are in high demand in the labor market.
For matriculated students, current information from the management of the institute and the director of studies is published mainly via the History Forum (please note that you must be logged into ILIAS if you wish to use this link).
