The Institute of History offers the following master’s degree study programs:
- Master Major 90 ECTS (Latin Obligatory for Ancient or Medieval History as Special Focus 1)
- Master Minor 30 ECTS (for students with BA degree 60 ECTS, Latin Obligatory for Ancient or Medieval History as Special Focus 1)
- Master Mono 120 ECTS (Latin Obligatory Regardless of Special Focus)
- Master Minor 30 ECTS (for students with a BA degree 30 ECTS)
The master's degree program is divided into the following subject areas:
- Ancient History (AG)
- Medieval History (MA)
- Modern History (NG)
- Older Swiss history (CH-)
- Modern history, including contemporary history (NNG)
- Recent Swiss history (CH +)
- Economic, Social and Environmental History (WSU)
An important component of the master's degree program is the Historical Studies module.
